GoddessKRING 2008 DVD amplifiedchameleon0029 Goddess KRING archive project. one of my shows from 2008 when i was featured artist at "art not terminal" gallery seattle and some poetry and music by me with clips from norway etc Here's a video that I just uploaded to my YouTube channel from 2008. I converted the DVD .vob file to an MPEG file so that I could edit it and splice it up but also upload it to my YouTube! This is when I was the featured artist at the "art not terminal Gallery" which used to be on Westlake and Lenora and now it's moved to near the Seattle center fountain. I showed there for many years! "Self Portal Amplified Chameleon" was the name of my show and I got to fill up the whole front room of the gallery! that was so fun to have my art all over the walls! I don't think I sold very many pieces!? but that was not my motivation... Basically the way I financed my art career is to be an art model because art models always get paid but artists may or may not actually get paid for their work that's kind of the reality that I've noticed! Although some of the artists that I model for they do make their full-time living from selling their art most of them actually have to teach to finance their art career and some of them fully make a living with their art- which is great to witness- Katy Stone is an example of an artist I admire a lot who used to teach and I used to model for her art drawing classes and now she makes her full-time living just doing her art which is very inspiring to see and I love her work very much... I was happy to share it in public! And this video contains voice over by me and then piano music and poetry that I recorded and created. #goddesskring i still have my post office box but it's now:

November 2023 Goddess KRING news!

On the Goddess KRING archive project my tech friends are teaching me to use "handbrake" a free open source software for taking DVDs and turning them into digital files that I can upload and edit on any website and then we use another free open source software program called OBS studio to run the VHS tapes from the VCR into the computer and turn them into digital files to then also upload and or edit. With the DVDs that I made I can't just extract the video file because there's some kind of weird vob file or something on the DVDs and they need to be turned into mpegs to match the vhs's that I'm also turning into digital files so this is a really big project!

For those who don't know I had a weekly public access TV show on in Seattle from about 1995 or 96 till about 2010... So I have about 700 or more videos literally that I made that are 28 minute episodes each and they involve monologues and body paint and me waxing philosophical in an improvisational way dancing around in body paint sharing into the camera whatever I felt like sharing. I shared music I created I sure it's poetry that I wrote and improv monologues about my life some of the shows are happy some of the shows are sad some of the shows are angry. I have all different kinds of emotions I have all kinds of different interesting face paints and I used props and I did a few shows at the TV studio with green screen and special effects with a friend I knew that worked at the studio called fertilizer that I made at the studio and then all the episodes that I made at home in my own little home studio with just a VCR a camera a light and a black backdrop called Goddess KRING.... I would now like to revisit my old TV show episodes and re-splice them and edit them together and make some new projects and also work on a documentary about what it was like to do public access and how it affected the audience and how it affected me and where I am now in my life in my 50s with my art car and continuing to do multimedia artwork as an art model who paints shoes and paints canvases and writes poetry and experiments with musical keyboard improvisational and spoken word and also photography some people tell me that my photography is my most powerful artwork that's the most high quality and maybe that's true from a design perspective but I love to do multimedia I know that when I was 10 years old as a little kid I knew that I would always want to probably do multimedia and not just pick one thing to focus on although maybe it would be good if I would focus on one medium but I seem to love to dance around with all the different kinds of artwork and I also see art modeling as an extension of my own personal art to collaborate with the people who paint me and draw me and I dress up in costumes and or I wear nothing and I'm a natural human but I see it as a way of acting or performing on the model stand as an art model it seems like a very theatrical thing that I'm doing and it makes me feel like I'm sort of an actor playing the role of an art model I guess that's the way I see everything in my life even when I'm a pet sitter I am a pet sitter I love animals but I am playing the role of whatever it is I'm doing at the time that's kind of how I see everything like we're all role playing together on this Earth!

She’ll return for a rare spoken word performance at Fantagraphics Bookstore and Gallery on Saturday, November 25 to celebrate the new issue of Mark Ostler’s Waltzing Carpet Juliette art zine.
