art and medical modeling as a career full time

being an art and medical model

been working with medical students lately role playing characters/patients that they practice medicine on.  both head to toe physical exams and interviewing the patient and coming up with 3 possible diagnosis and a treatment plan.  it's interesting work in "acting" and role play and gives me lots of practice communicating and making eye contact.  i give them both verbal and written feedback on their clinical technique- pros and cons and how they are doing well and how they can improve both physical technique and on building rapport with their patients.

when i art model my job is to be quiet and still in the long poses and dynamic and energetic in the short poses.

i enjoy serving both medical and art students as a model.

on the kobe bryant death: i am a female and i feel it's STILL SAD when anyone dies in a plane crash no matter who they are and if they have done abusive/rape things or not. i actually think it's gross that some humans think a person accused and or guilty of rape does not deserve "rip". it is sad when someone dies in a tragic accident even if they do harm to others in their past. kobe bryant was a human being, an athlete, a father, a husband AND someone who did abusive things- i know hardly anything about him but i still think it's sad that he and several others died in the helicopter crash including his 13 year old daughter. etc. sad to me the way humans "dehumanize" others who make bad choices and do harm- and act as if the whole person is just whatever bad things they have done and forget about all the good things this person probably did. #kobebryant #rip #condolances

"surveillance capitalism" is freaking me out

good morning! waking up thinking: i want to focus on being a content creator and resist being a passive viewer. the whole "surveillance capitalism" is freaking me out and i want more time away from the internet and mass media and more time in nature with plants and animals and my own inner world etc. so much marketing an advertising everywhere. even "news" is selling you something. ideas are sold: not just "products and services". do what you Love, don't get sucked into the drama!

usa needs ethical policy

posting this again: the fake commericalization of the USA media machine really grosses me out! the way candidates run. it's all about "sponsorship" and logos and MONEY MONEY MONEY more than actual politcal policy. Marianne Williamson was a good solid candidate. she was in alignment with Martin Luther King ideas. very wise, ethical, sane, and morally healthy. the government has been BOUGHT out by the corporations and they government does whatever the large corporations want them to do. the average citizen IS LEFT ABANDONED for the most part being told they are "free". certain freedoms can be good but when the government has no cooperative ethical responsibility to it's citizens and only works for the "share holders" we are in trouble. when i go to certain european countries with large well funded train stations and national healthcare for all it feels very different. basic ethics in place and not just cut throat competitive capitalism. i am into a hybrid of "free market capitalism" mixed with "democratic socialism" to make a balance of profit making business and "freedom" with basic common cooperative needs being met like fair wages, good well funded mass transit (high speed modern trains imagine that in the USA?) national non profit public service healthcare, social services funded, clean modern water systems SAFE TO DRINK! IMAGINE THAT? veterans well cared for by a military that has a HUGE budget of $698.5 billion USD= they CAN AFFORD to give all veterans a safe place to live and mental and physical healthcare. NOT TO MENTION STOP WASTING MONEY NOT GIVING PEOPLE HEALTHCARE. IT WOULD COST LESS THAN OUR SYSTEM WASTEFUL CAPITIALISTIC MEDICAL SYSTEM IN THE USA TO INSTALL MEDICARE FOR ALL WITH NO PREMIUMS AND CO PAYS AND not tied to employment. a basic human service available to every citizen, rich poor young old sick or healthy. basic human rights. not "expensive" to have a public system of medical care. the usa currently wastes lots of money on marketing and administrative red tape etc. CUT THE WASTE. singlepayer would cost less.

my thoughts on buying "cars"

my thoughts on "cars". i love driving and having the freedom to commute all over the place 24/7 north south east and west: basically even when you "buy" a car you are long term renting because the car dies eventually and you need another one! so it's silly how people think of cars as "investments" they are all temporary. unless i guess you buy old junker cars to fix up and sell for a profit etc.

any car nerds reading this? share your ideas with me if you want thanks! considering having my next car be an older used car with simple engine "old school" (automatic) style but as fuel efficient as i can find as opposed to getting a newer car with lots of electronics & software that are complicated and more expensive to fix. i am a little overwhelmed with options! my car insurance would be low if i get a non "high value car" also- funny how many different kinds of engines and transmissions there are! i had no idea how much it varies. i am watching tons of videos by mechanics talking about cars that are easy and cheap to maintain and repair- cars that can last 300,000 miles! my smart car has 90,000 miles and is a high quality made car (Mercedes-Benz/ Renault) but the parts are pricey- but they last a long time and i get 40 mpg. i don't care at all about "cosmetic" beauty of my next car just a good engine and solid transmission that will last and good gas mileage. my car insurance will be nice and low also if i can get "cheapish" car. my current insurance is only $52.00 a month which i am happy about. i started driving in 2012 so this car ownership is kind of "new" to me. still on my first car.

Last night the musical play we saw was “Christmas Revels” folk music

Last night the musical play we saw was “Christmas Revels” folk music and sung in Romanian, Macadonian, how do I spell that? , Greek, Croatian, Bulgarian, Slovenian and English! I loved the international ness of it! They did not sing any holiday songs I was familiar with which I loved! Fresh and new! The folk costumes and handmade shoes were also beautiful. And a friend of ours performed in it which made it more personally moving - we got to meet some cast members in the lobby after the show etc nice experience

i have unusual unpopular opinions on many topics and this is challenging when i share them with others- i feel so defensive partly due to this. i just need to HONOR AND RESPECT MY VIEWS AND LET OTHERS disagree if they want and know that i am valid and that i just don't join in "the majority" on most issues. i am with the TRAILBLAZERS AND INNOVATIVE THINKERS= the creative ones.

Dreamt I lived in a big glass dome with two cats and a forest and there were tiny baby bears outside trying to get in- and I had to get my cats safely in through a tiny round door then had to seal it so bears could not go in- there were 24 baby bears the size of porcupines running around outside and the dome was clear glass and huge the size of a American football stadium - not sure why I could not be friends with the bears and invite them in- senses they needed to come inside be be healthy as if the oxygen outside my dome was not clean and safer in the dome with trees and me and my cats- a futuristic dream I guess

Woke from a dream with a song in it “I can never taste your worthless” and wondering if it’s a real song or did I make it up in my dream?! The dream was about remodeling a huge property with house and lots of staircases and actress Scarlett Johansen was there to “assist” ha! Interesting dreams lately- also had one involving a huge two moon scene on the beach with extraterrestrials landing everywhere in orange sphere shaped containers light up like lanterns and was wondering they if moved our moon closer to earth or brought their own moons? This caused the waves to get really huge

doing our north american holiday "thanksgiving" different this year!

doing our north american holiday "thanksgiving" different this year! cooking a meal for a female friend and i and bringing to her house later today- we have known each other since we were 11 on whidbey when our parents both put us in alternative art oriented school. (my boyfriend is in oregon visiting his family) then going to visit my mom on the island later next week...my dads in florida retired and having a meal with his girlfriend etc.

i love Laurie Anderson! have since i was a teen and heard her 1984 album "Mister Heartbreak" at my uncles house! agree with her ideas on not "labeling" yourself as a certain kind of artist if you don't want to be pigeon holed! be free if you want. "multi media" keeps you free! i have always felt natural this way. some aRtists are happy to FOCUS on one medium. not me! follow your bliss as Joseph Campbell said “If you do follow your bliss you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one you are living. Follow your bliss and don't be afraid, and doors will open where you didn't know they were going to be.”
