dark and light thoughts

 

Basically I just feel like I need to be my whole self which is dark and light positive and negative multifaceted full of contradictions a little bit introvert a little bit extrovert a little bit country, a little bit rock and roll a little bit friendly and a little bit antisocial. I guess all of it is the real me a little bit Moody a little bit friendly, etc. Definitely an omnivore wanting to eat both plants and animals. Not trying to save the world but a little bit hero and a little bit villain. Maybe both at the same time simultaneously!

Yeah, suddenly it occurs to me once again. I still want to do my art and I still want to share it, but I think I'm burned out on thinking that I need to promote the heck out of what I do to make it a success just to prove that I'm not afraid of failure or success. When really? I want to do my music and my poetry and my art but I don't want to try to force it to become successful or like push the river. I want to just flow with the river so the idea that you make music and art and that's enough that you're enjoying it. It doesn't matter if it's popular or famous or you make money or whatever. I don't need to make money with my yard. I do my art for fun so now I want to let go again of needing certain external results but still come from a place of doing my creative things and sharing them and not worrying about the outcome whether it's failure or success because everyone just labels things anyway. And what really matters is that we're doing what we love, right, and that we're creating a ripple effect in the universe

I kept this laminated sign with my names of it from the parade yesterday As a souvenir..., I can use this for other display purposes and then I'm excited to set up a table to show the public, my poetry book and some of my visual art and a QR code for our music.. at the Wedgwood Art Festival and the fantagraphics book fair hot off the press as part of the art attack on the weekend of July 13th and 14th...

It also occurs to me that I should find a camera person that wants to follow me around and help me document some of the vents that I'm in cuz it's quite challenging to be the performer, the artist and the filmmaker at the same time that's documenting it! Wish I could clone myself and so I could film myself better. Although I'm really good at doing the monologues in a simple way but to document me from a distance, I'm probably going to need another camera person to help me out... And the friends that I'm working with on making this film are both busy so it's hard to coordinate with them so I might need to find somebody else to help do our documentary film.

Really pretty much in awe of this documentary about Val Kilmer's life. The most amazing thing about it is the way it's edited together. I imagine what a challenge it was to go through all of the home movies that he made and figure out how to tell a story and splice it all together from the past to the present into this one. Cohesive film. Really well done. Anyone who's reading this? Have you seen this movie? What do you think? I really loved it. Ive seen it twice so far. And then I think about doing my own documentary about my public access, TV show and different aspects of the unusual way in which I was raised etc. My life story basically it's a little overwhelming to think about, but I have hundreds of VHS tapes from my public access TV show and I've worked with hundreds of people as an art model literally and I wonder how many people have seen my TV show or at least used to watch it. And I think I have four people lined up to interview, but I haven't started any of the interviews yet... Then I would like to film me driving around in my art car or have somebody film me. A friend of mine has a drone. We might be able to get some aerial shots of me driving around in my art car and then we have the goddess Kring theme song literally that we can use in the movie... Dave Flowers It's a great sound engineer and music mixer and composer, and so we basically have the tools to score the movie with ordinal music we create - then I have my visual art and my poetry and my own current self. So there's so much potential for this movie to be pretty rich and interesting multifaceted and interesting story that we could tell which will hopefully inspire and touch people

 I am at Elliott Bay Bookstore on Capitol Hill Seattle and it feels so good to see a magazine for sale in this establishment that has an article about my art in it! this is amazing! this is a dream come true! and it's so validating and so exciting and so fun and I'm hoping a whole bunch of people read the article and feel inspired by it in some positive way!!!! Thanks Brad Holden for interviewing me about being part of Seattle history I am completely thrilled and honored and happy to be part of this project of expression!!!! We are finishing our music CD tomorrow and we're releasing the "Kring Flowers" original song CD and in conjunction with my poetry book "Kringonian Pizzazz" and my trip to Houston Texas for the Art Car festival and parade! Listening to our "kring flowers" music on a CD that I made for my car while I drive! it's so fun to have your own music CD that you can sing along to... And it's funny because I have the kind of brain where I forget what we do after we do it... and so I need to listen to the CD that we made of our own music and memorize and sing along with it because I don't necessarily remember all the lyrics I wrote in my journal that we recorded... so I've got to learn the songs just like somebody else would have to learn the songs if it wasn't their own music! I don't want the documentary film we're making to just be a way of glorifying what I did on public access,! I want it to be a more honest look at the positive and negative side of what I created and aired on public tv. I think it's ultimately positive and inspirational -hopefully- but there was a dark side to what I was doing and you could say my boundaries were "inappropriate" or whatever maybe that's my neurodivergence maybe that's some kind of emotional woundedness that I have-or maybe that's because people are used to television being completely fake and people exaggerating their ego in a show off kind of way and I really wasn't doing that? I'm a human that's always wanted to share both my beauty and my flaws for some reason....Seriously curious about all the people who did not like my public access TV show "Goddess Kring" and what they said I guess people thought I was crazy people thought I was on drugs people thought it was just weird people thought it was too repetitive I'm just curious what are the negative comments aside from I was accused of being a narcissist and being an attention whore. Should I spell it "horror" cuz the internet wants to censor that word for some reason when I type it ha ha. So if anybody reading this used to watch my show whether you like it or didn't like it or even just felt neutral about it I'm open to your feedback I want to learn from the feedback I receive and it will help me write the storyline for this documentary film that we are starting to make.

Part of why I like to create and broadcast things is because the mainstream media drives me nuts!!! and I want to create my own media....to counter that....I think that if more regular people created their own media and ignored the mainstream media that would be better culture! would be healthier! Workaholic me! I did it!!!! today was my first day off in several days and I resisted the temptation to take an emergency art model gig... I waited and waited and waited and then I said if they really couldn't find anybody I could do it and thankfully they found somebody else... although the workaholic a?in me wishes that I got in the gig but the thing is I need a day off every once in awhile! I work so much!

I will preface this by saying I do love the Taylor Swift song that's called "Carolina" from that movie the crawdad sing I love that song that is quite beautiful the melody and the lyrics and the spaciousness....As for all the drama about Taylor Swift and football games and her boyfriend etc... imagine what it's like to be as famous as her and how the important thing in life is to stay grounded and in touch with the reality of what it is to be a human being and yet when you're in the spotlight like that then you choose what you're going to do and what you're not going to do and the way people project positive and negative things on to you must be a bit draining and stressful and distracting to real life important things ...and yet you have to tune all of that out and just focus on doing what you actually believe in which for her apparently is writing and recording songs and performing and thanking her fans for showing up and listening... I'm not a huge fan of her music but I do love her positive energy and admire her intelligence and her longevity, her talent and her prolific songwriting I really admire and I love seeing videos of her as a little kid and have from a young age she wanted to do what she's doing right now and she stuck with it and she made her dreams come true and I think that is pretty inspiring! and her philanthropy and her ability to apparently focus on what's positive and try to tune out the people who project a bunch of negative junk on to her but she's a real person with flaws just like everybody else... she's multifaceted I'm sure. I also think that the media uses people that are famous like her just to create drama and generate ratings so they can sell more products and so it's partly a manipulation to get sucked into arguing about all of this and football and her being at the football games or whatever... I don't even watch TV! I don't watch football games... I just keep seeing people gossiping about all of this so I thought I would give my take on it. I'm for the freedom of thought to think whatever you want about this topic. I think people just enjoy venting and having something to project onto and let off steam. Famous people in the media are used sometimes for this purpose we see famous people as heroes and villains usually one or the other

 They say fantasize about what you want if money were no object and really the biggest dream that I have would be to just buy myself a nice house and do my artwork full time and just share it freely all over the world like even have billboards with my art printed on it not trying to sell anything just create beautiful art and print it on billboards and maybe even rent out an entire museum and fill it with artwork that I do or do some kind of installation performance artwork and then I would get another car and paint it as an art car I would probably have a series of art cars and I would just go around the world and share my artwork with people for free basically if money were no object like if I didn't need to earn money I would just use all the wealth that I had to create art and share it freely all over the place and then I would live in a nice house and I would probably have like animals goats and chickens and cats and I would travel and get a lot of massages that's what I would do if I was extremely wealthy or didn't have to worry about earning money etc and I would probably only buy my food from small farms and farmers markets and never actually go to a mainstream grocery store just so that I could support small farms and companies with healthy food real food grown on small farms plants and animals these are some of my dreams... I still want to do my art and take care of animals and travel those are the main things that come to mind when I think about if I had like millions and millions of dollars I would still be doing a lot of the same things that I'm already doing which that's a good sign I guess yay

my poetry book has been published! KringSPEAK poetry by Shannon Kringen Goddess KRING improvisational multi media artist. musical spoken word poetry i write as it flows into my brain. inspired by songwriters and nature. the last four poems are my dad Gus Kringen's folk song lyrics he wrote. we are both poetic writers who love music very deeply.

I am neurodivergent and see shapes when I hear music SYNESTHESIA is part of my reality. (“Synesthesia is when your brain routes sensory information through multiple unrelated senses, causing you to experience more than one sense simultaneously. Classic Goddess KRING clip invisible force that creates the universe order and chaos in nature. some of my philosophy...this is from 2010 or so! purple hair and rhinestones upon my face ans nor just my art car and hand painted shoes i create! #goddesskring learning to edit video clips. i have not done a lot of splicing video in my 15 years doing my weekly show "Goddess KRING" i mostly did 28 minute video episodes in one take all the way through with no splicing needed- a "live performance" style. so "editing" is a whole new ball of wax for me. my scene "cut" was stop/start/stop/start on the VCR button!

electronic extended mix that we're working on! We played my little

melody into a keyboard and then we hooked it into a click track of

rhythm and now we're adding layers of sound to it and we sampled my

voice reading poetic phrases that I wrote and we're turning it into a

Opal Moonstone is an improvisational design with rhinestones on a 2010 Honda Fit. I am delighted to add colors and shapes when I get the urge. I am known in Seattle for painting onto shoes and hats, and giving my hand painted "KringWEAR" shoes to musician Tori Amos, I am known as "Goddess KRING" from public access TV in Seattle and this art car is my current big project. I am an experimental multi media artist. Some of my favorite artists that inspire me are: Antoni Gaudí, Yayoi Kusama, Gustav Klimt, and Friedensreich Hundertwasser.

I use clear Silicone Sealant Glue on my art car. It has taken two years so far and I am still adding to it.

Seattle Magazine to Profile Goddess KRING!

So grateful and want to inspire others to do whatever they love as I do what I love! Wow I just had an amazing time being interviewed for 35 minutes for Seattle Magazine by Brad Holden…. Who is doing a profile on my show "Goddess KRING" …in March or April 2024 it will be published in Seattle Magazine in both printed hard copy and online! I'm part of Seattle history! which is pretty cool and amazing to me! he asked me about my past and present and future and we covered a lot of ground… it was really fun being interviewed and it's cool to be old enough to have so many stories to share and to talk about my childhood and how it led me to want to do my show and how that led me to what I'm doing now… which is continuing on with my creative improvisational freelance lifestyle! I've pretty much always been multimedia freelance ever since I was in kindergarten… I have memories of being in kindergarten and feeling like I wanted to do things in my own eclectic way and I continue to do it I guess that way! I definitely remember being in third grade and wanting to be my real self whether people liked me or not and being conscious of if I wanted to be popular I had to conform in a certain way and if I wanted to be my real self I had to risk being ostracized… I remember being conscious of that from a pretty young age and I think that my solution was to find a way to be my real self and stand out and be appreciated for it instead of being made fun of for it! And I have been made fun of throughout my lifetime off and on but I've also been appreciated so I want to focus on the positiveness and try to tune out the negativity! Onward upward Kringonian Pizzazz! So currently my main projects are working on a full-length documentary feature film about the Goddess Kring TV show that I did for 15 years in Seattle on public access television and producing my own book of poetry - self publishing it -and working on a original music album with Dave flowers from interactive Jack records! Goddess Kring in a nutshell- boda boo bada bing, stinging rings the kring, catch the windsong spiral drive, crack the code, left and right node! I (Shannon Kringen) created the persona "Goddess KRING" when I created my own tv show for public access television that aired weekly from 1996-2011 The character is really me but an exaggerated version of the less shy parts of myself. My show consisted of me doing improvisational monologues, nude dancing in body paint, spoken word poetry I wrote, slide shows of my photography with music I created as the soundtrack... I created the entire show at home in my apartment with one camera, one full spectrum light and sheets as backdrops mostly. GoddessKRINGenvyjealousy121223 Goddess KRING on Fantasy A Gets a Mattress Movie my full run on sentence assessment of the movie: "Fantasy A Gets a Mattress" is a quintessential example of a movie mirroring its own message! underdogs can win. the funky unique dream like, campy humored scenes create a synergy effect that left me the day after remembering the atmosphere the film created like it was a dream I had that inspired me and haunted me simultaneously. The mood it creates lingered with me long after watching the movie. it's power in striking a chord with audiences seems to be in alignment with the phrase "the whole is greater than the sum of it's parts" the chemistry I felt with the crowd cheering on the characters had a euphoric energy snowball like effect. the unusual awkward characters and scenes mixing real life challenges with bizarre surreal fantasy combine in an absurd way that reminds one to not let perfectionism stop them from expressing and moving forward in pursuing their dreams!
