human defense mechanisms at play

 I'm witnessing the mental blocks people have when something sinister is happening... sometimes people just don't want to acknowledge it and they want to pretend like everything is okay... I can think of times previously in history when certain horrible things were happening and people just sort of pretended like it was okay.... I guess that's a defense mechanism that people have just so they can get through the day. Human Nature... I'm seeing all kinds of patterns that I'm not going to describe here and I'll keep that to myself.... Sending good wishes to all....



Keeping a sense of meaning and purpose in life is very important and different people have different ways of doing that.

I love the wisdom and the philosophy in all of the great religions of the world. I'm not a religious person at all, but I believe in wisdom and I believe in the philosophy that helps us live our best life and connects us through love with others. So in regards to people who are judgmental against religion or obsessed with religion, I would say don't confuse the baby with the bath water. I'm interested in the actual wisdom and the philosophy that's helpful and all of the dogma and fear and shame and guilt in superstitious shallow blah, blah, blah and excuses to go to war and blah blah blah blah blah. That's just all a bunch of gunk that needs to be flushed down the toilet, but the actual wisdom of loving others as we love ourselves and forgiving and unconditional love and actual like wisdom. I'm interested in all of that and you can also be an atheist and be full of wisdom. So I guess what I'm interested in is wisdom, love and compassion. Whether somebody is religious or an atheist or whatever doesn't matter to me.  Joseph Campbell talked about this and he actually was thought of his controversial for having that idea. He saw all the similarities in the different philosophies all around the world and even if you're an atheist, there's wisdom in some of those views as well and they can be connected to spiritual ways of seeing. So I intuitively connect the dots in a similar way from what Joseph Campbell talks about blah blah blah I need to go to bed. I'm tired but I guess I do think about philosophy quite a bit in my own intuitive abstract way and how it lines up with human behavior, etc. I'm just too tired to say anymore. Good night

Wow what a challenge it is to feel empathy and compassion for people who I think are completely wrong about certain things and also wanting to receive empathy and compassion from them who think I'm wrong about certain things that's a big challenge these days I would say from my perspective

recent life

 

random life: Had a good time working with artists today. Commuted with my bicycle which is all decorated up for the parades and I just keep it like that all year round....and my bicycle helmet too....and everyone asked me why my bicycle helmet is like that so I like to spread the joy and spread the color when I drive in my rhinestone art car and wear my bike helmet and my hand painted shoes etc they told me today the world needs more of that the world needs more color and fun and playfulness and creativity and people experimenting and trying new things for fun... And my heart goes out to anyone who is being told that they can't do certain things that are just normal and I'm really grateful that I have the freedom to do the things that I did today and that I am doing right now

I'm learning a lot about the human psychology of certain situations some people just act as if everything is normal -even if it actually makes no sense but when anyone who disagrees is shame for an ostracized for it a majority of people seem to just then go along and think well it must be normal to go along with thisand everything makes sense and just go along with certain things other people sneak around and learn how to be fake other people fight out in the open and I guess other people just leave the whole situation and go somewhere else completely off grid there's at least four different choices

Enjoy life while you can your freedoms could be taken away very quickly if certain people decide so

what i think about "beach house: thank your lucky stars" album: this record is a masterpiece. i found this randomly at the public library and fell in love with it. every song hypnotizes me into a trance of inspiration. i love this album so much. every song is a gem. i am very picky about music and this one hooked me from the first listen. i play this over and over and over in my car. the melodies are so well crafted.

So grateful that we have so many nature trails in Seattle and that I can walk to a few of them.

My favorite thing about my self-portraits when people appreciate them is that I know that I don't have to get permission from the photographer cuz I'm the model and the photographer so I give myself permission to share and publish etc I don't have to worry about somebody not wanting me to publish something because I give myself permission to publish me it's nice and simple that way!

I remember in an interview Tom Petty saying that when he would do a show sometimes he would end up when he went back to his hotel room just pacing around the room till 5:00 a.m. because he was so charged up on adrenaline from performing in front of the audience that's pretty intense

I get it now some people don't understand vibes... they don't understand intuitive feeling and vibes especially in music.... It's not about how complicated or simple a song is it's about the feeling and the vibe and sometimes you can just play three notes and it could be more powerful than the most complicated symphony you've ever heard.... Some good music is complicated some good music is simple and everything in between and vice versa.... which explains why some people don't like this sound and yet people like me love this dreamy sound... very inspired by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.... very inspired by Neil Young and crazy horse very inspired by beach house the band inspired by Mazzy Star, cowboy junkies and Jesse Sykes and Rafe Pearlman in so many other musicians and Tori Amos etc and Beck and so many other people....

I will always believe in the magic of synchronicity and Serendipity and spiritual awareness and psychic intuition etc. And the creative imagination and the power of thought and the power of how we're all connected and we all affect each other in positive and negative ways depending on how we use our energy I believe in energy and manifesting and all kinds of stuff and I feel like there's people out there promoting this view that dismisses all of what I just said and I am not going to let anyone dampen my spirit and take away my inspiration that comes from within and it comes from nature and what I would call a spiritual awareness. All the great songwriters that I love seem to channel their music from something beyond themselves and I would consider that kind of a spiritual thing that they're doing combining their own mind and imagination and body heart and soul with something beyond themselves invisible energy that's what I would call it and some of my best poems that I've ever written in my improvisational art is all kind of channeled from some kind of spiritual energy that's kind of how I feel about it and I'm going to learn how to get better at just ignoring anybody who laughs at that kind of statement because it's an inspired statement and I'm sticking with it it's from my heart and soul and I resonate with people who resonate with this

 they gave me a shell on the whidbey island ferry when they saw my art car i decorated with rhinestones they said they thought i needed a shell! i agree. this was november 10, 2021. i love the shell. here is the painted shell group! they paint shells and give them away for fun to spread joy!  sending good wishes to all for health and well being. so much polarity and conflict in the world now. very challenging time. and yet harmony still exists and nature still tries for (hō′mē-ō-stā′sĭs) " The tendency of an organism or cell to regulate the chemical processes that take place internally so as to maintain health and functioning, regardless of outside conditions. The ability to maintain a steady body temperature is an example of homeostasis."

 I think I made friends with the spider that lives in my bathroom and I trained it!  There's two daddy long legs that live in my bathroom right now and I don't mind if they stay out of my way. I stay out of their way and they're usually up on the ceiling and the last few days one of them has been low down in the shower and I don't want it to accidentally drown so I've been taking a cup and sort of gently pushing it up the wall so that it stays near the ceiling. And today I was going to take a shower and it was down in the shower area again and I set out loud okay Spidey you need to move up to the ceiling and I swear to God it started moving up to the ceiling so I think it. I think it just knew that I was in there and it remembered that twice I moved it back up to the ceiling. So this time that spider knows... the spider is smart enough to know it needs to crawl up to the ceiling!

Spreading Inspiration! Kring-spiration! by Shannon Nicole Kringen

My favorite response is when people tell me they're inspired by my multimedia artwork cuz some people think of me in a critical way and they accuse me of being a narcissist cuz I'm so into My self-portraits and my eccentric way of making my art which is a bummer but people are entitled to their opinion but my favorite is when people say they're inspired by my art to paint their face paint their shoes decorate their car do something fun and playful whatever it is singing dancing acting painting I love to inspire people that is my favorite thing because I love playing around with multimedia and I like mostly working by myself my best art seems to be made when I'm by myself because I'm just more comfortable when I'm by myself although I have enjoyed working with other people over the years! But my favorite way of inspiring people is to work solo and share my work and then people enjoy what I do and then they do their own creative thing which I think is really cool and we can empower each other doing that instead of just being spectators in life we can participate and do creative fun things express ourselves that is part of my mission on this planet since I never got married or had kids I feel like my mission is to do creative things that I love and share it with others and hope to inspire other people to do whatever it is they love. And I love nature plants and animals..

beyond duality

 We can have strong opinions about something and still have empathy and compassion for the two main sides something being argued about in the media. Beyond duality or non-duality that's partly what this is... the concept of that. Musician jewel just did a video about this and I agree with most of what she said it's a 45 minute video and I didn't listen to all of it but I like people who are brave enough to speak out about empathy and compassion and mental health and how important debate and free speech is and we can have empathy and compassion and not take sides we can appreciate different facets although you have to be careful what you say these days-. What you don't say is just as important as what you do say just like in music the notes that they play are important but also the silence between the notes is important... I have some critical and concerned and angry thoughts and feelings that I'm not going to share here.... and I listened to a 5-hour video that is published on a platform that allows full free speech of medical professionals speaking for 5 hours and I listened to the entire 5 hours... although I broke it up into three chunks because that's a long video but all these medical professionals sat in a room together with microphones and stated their credentials and talked with a senator open to hearing their experiences and they videotaped the whole thing and recorded everything. But it's disturbing to think that I'm not allowed to share that here because this footage is not allowed everywhere and people gossip about things without really checking it out for sure to know what's correct and what's incorrect and it seems to be that's the war going on right now it's like psychological warfare of people arguing about what's correct and what's incorrect and it's like we're not allowed to debate it... we're supposed to just conform to one certain way of looking at everything and I believe in staying open and flexible and questioning things and quite honestly I have to keep a lot of secrets just to navigate everything in the world right now but privacy is a good thing so I guess I'm learning to have stronger boundaries with the world around me.

 A perpetual state of emergency? no. And the next phase has to do with the Earth and being told a more specific script of what we should and should not do or what we can and cannot do blah blah blah you do the math most people though won't do the math they'll just go along with being trained like a parrot and a monkey in a circus show I'll probably delete this post cuz it's a little too angry and not going to help me or anyone but how could somebody not be angry when you see the abuse of power and the scapegoating in the gaslighting!? But maybe that's the carrot in the stick in the trap maybe to transcend and not be angry and still focus on love and life and real valuable life is a radical Act. Individuality and personal responsibility etc. Instead of groupthink conformity and shaming blah blah blah

I am a photographer and I see it as a spiritual practice that keeps my mind fresh, alive and in the present moment. (if I applied this to my whole life I would be much more fully alive and free to learn,grow,heal, self actualize)
The article talks about using photography in the classroom as facilitating transpersonal vision. The characteristics of the Sage are sometimes echoed by statements in the photography literature of creative photography. Some of the sage characteristics shared with photography are: freedom from the sense of self, receptivity, spontaneity, acceptance, non-attachment, resourcefulness, free and easy wandering and “wu-wei” (an important concept in Taoism that literally means non-action or non-doing) for example: “As trees grow, they simply grow without trying to grow “
In creative photography (which I would call “improvisationally wandering with your camera and shooting in the present moment and responding spontaneously to what you see, shape,color,light,texture) can be seen as an communion between the self and the environment with no sense of separation.
Photographer Cartier-Bresson said “I am not responsible for my photographs. Photography is not documentation but intuition, a poetic experience. It's drowning yourself, dissolving yourself, then sniff, sniff, sniff—being sensitive to coincidence. You can't go looking for it; you can't want it or you won't get it. First, you must lose yourself, then it happens.”
A Taoist photographer responds in the present moment and lets things happen. The photograph almost takes itself. I fully agree with this most of my best photographs have been done this way. Spontaneously free and open to what is around me. Having never seen that kind of light or shape before. My heart and mind are in love with what I see and I shoot when it feels right. This cannot be planned.
I have had people tell me after seeing my photographs of shapes in water and mud puddles and chrome they now notice things out walking they never saw before. Art can be transformational for people. Flowing with life and not rebelling against it. Accepting what is “pretty and ugly both equally” being “equanimous”. All these spiritual principles are used in creative photography. I will add that this Taoist principles can also be seen in improvisational theatre and drawing and painting, singing, dancing. Especially jazz!
In summary the article states that creative photographers are sometimes conscious of these Taoist principles while they shoot photos and sometimes not. Either way it seems that a natural flow of life directs the action in this kind of photography that mirrors very closely that of Taoist wisdom. http://shannonkringen.com/taoist_photographer.htm
